Kevin Schalk
Owner, Clinic Director, Physiotherapist
Kevin graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy in 2003 after previously completing his Human Kinetics degree at UBC. Since becoming a registered physiotherapist, Kevin has also completed his diploma in manipulative therapy, the highest level of orthopaedic certification in physiotherapy (FCAMT). He also completed his training in Gunn IMS through the faculty of medicine at UBC in October of 2013, becoming a certified IMS practitioner. Kevin has worked with people and athletes of all kinds. His accomplishments in sports therapy include being a member of the World Junior Hockey Championships medical team, physiotherapist for the under 21 National Field Hockey team in, working with various members of the Vancouver Giants, many years of experience working with National Team and BC Team Judo athletes, and has volunteered and worked with many local community teams and high school sports teams throughout the years. Kevin lives in North Delta with his wife and two boys, and believes in establishing a strong sense of community in Delta. He enjoys an active lifestyle with his family, and has been a long time member of the Steveston Judo Club (30 years) during which time he competed at the National level of judo with two silver medal finishes at the National Championships. In the summer, Kevin enjoys cycling and has participated in the Gran Fondo Whistler ride as well as the Ride to Conquer Cancer to Seattle. His greatest joy is watching his boys Adam & Ryan participate in their soccer, judo and other activities.

Dayna Fiorini
Owner, Clinic Director, Physiotherapist
Dayna completed her Master of Physical Therapy at UBC in 2015, after graduating from UBC Okanagan in 2013 with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a specialization in Clinical Exercise Physiology. She has gone on to complete further certifications in Functional Dry Needling (FDN), Assessment and Treatment of the Pelvic Floor (Pelvic Health Solutions Level 1), Pain Science, and Tendinopathy rehabilitation. In the clinic, Dayna uses a combination of exercise, manual therapy, dry needling and education in a holistic approach to meet each patient’s individual needs. She strongly believes in providing patients with the education and tools they need to achieve a healthy, active lifestyle and to assist with pain management and optimize function. While Dayna enjoys treating individuals in all walks of life, from athletes to post-op rehab and work-related juries, she has a special interest in Prenatal/Postpartum & Pelvic Floor Rehab, as well as running-related injuries and tendinopathy management. Dayna spent most of her childhood/teen years training and competing at a National level in Artistic Gymnastics and Trampoline & Tumbling. She enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle now through running and has completed 9 half marathons and 1 full marathon to-date. Dayna grew up in North Delta and feels so fortunate to get to work and raise her family in this amazing community.

Matthew Harriman
Physiotherapist
Matthew received his Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Human Kinetics degrees from the University of British Columbia. He began his career at Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre, where he worked with athletes of all levels. Since joining Forte Sport and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Clinic in 2014, Matthew has continued to expand his expertise by completing advanced courses in manual therapy, as well as earning certification in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)/Functional Dry Needling (FDN). He integrates manual therapy, IMS/dry needling, exercise, and education to help his clients achieve optimal results. Matthew has a special interest in shoulder, knee, and ankle rehabilitation. Originally from North Delta, Matthew is passionate about helping his community stay active and injury-free. As a former UBC Track and Cross Country varsity team member and an Ironman triathlon competitor, he continues to challenge himself through running and swimming. Matthew and his wife have three children, and enjoy spending time outdoors as a family. He understands the physical and mental demands of balancing an active lifestyle with the responsibilities of parenthood. His goal is to help you get back to doing what you love.

Esther holds a Master of Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a minor in psychology, both earned from the University of British Columbia. Throughout her academic journey, she gained valuable experience working with diverse populations, including post-operative knee and hip patients, individuals managing chronic pain, and those on the path to recovery from breast cancer. She has recently completed certifications in advanced vestibular rehabilitation. Esther is also trained in cupping therapy and incorporates it into her treatment plans when appropriate. Esther’s holistic approach combines tailored exercise regimens, therapeutic manual techniques, cupping, and patient education to help her clients recover and regain their quality of life. She believes in setting goals and regularly checking in so that her clients continue to progress and thrive in her care. Having grown up in Vancouver, Esther enjoys cycling and hiking. She is also an avid ultimate frisbee player, having competed nationally and internationally in her teen and college years, including representing Team Canada in her youth. These days, Esther continues to live actively by lifting weights in the gym and playing pickleball and ultimate frisbee. Esther is fluent in English and conversational in Cantonese.

Gurpreet completed her Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Kinesiology degrees at the University of British Columbia. She strongly believes in empowering individuals in her community to take control of their health journey. She is also fluent in English and Punjabi. Growing up, Gurpreet participated in various sports and developed an interest in understanding how the human body moves. Gurpreet has witnessed the important role physical rehabilitation played in returning to sport, which sparked her interest in physiotherapy. Gurpreet believes in the power of movement and rehabilitation by utilizing a combination of exercise, manual therapy, education, and modalities to assist clients in reaching their goals and enhancing their quality of life. Gurpreet has taken further education and courses in vestibular rehab and has a special interest in working with clients dealing with vestibular conditions such as BPPV (Vertigo). Outside of the clinic, Gurpreet enjoys baking, going to the gym, and indulging in a fun game of badminton.

Josh has completed his Orthopaedic Division Level 1 certification and incorporates a client-centered approach into his practice. He tailors treatments to each individual, combining exercise, manual therapy, patient education, and collaborative decision-making to achieve the best outcomes. He has experience treating a wide range of conditions, from sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation to managing chronic pain and mobility issues in older adults. Josh is passionate about empowering his clients to take an active role in their recovery. In his spare time, Josh enjoys playing a variety of sports, including basketball, tennis, golf, soccer, and pickleball. When not on the court or field, he spends time weightlifting, following major sports leagues, or gaming.
